DO Announcement - Touro in NYC
The accrediting body for osteopathic medical schools, COCA awarded provisional accreditation to Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine, New York located in Harlem, New York City on December 9. TouroCOM became a member of AACOM on December 11. Effective immediately, Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine, New York has become the 24th osteopathic medical school or program currently available for designation through the AACOMAS application service. (Michigan State University COM’s deadline has passed and the University of North Texas Health Science Center COM accepts applications through the Texas application service.)
Current applicants may add TouroCOM-NY by logging in to the AACOMAS site and adding a designation. An email message with this information is going out tonight to all applicants currently in the AACOMAS system.
More information on TouroCOM will soon be available on their www site – www.touro.edu/med (although nothing is posted yet) and on the AACOMAS site.

The New York College of Podiatric Medicine would like to invite you in their 2007 Summer Pre-Matriculation Program from July 9th-August 17th. The program consists of three aspects:
Taking pre-clinical courses taught by NYCPM faculty
Shadowing in our clinics for hands-on exposure to podiatric medicine
Developing study skills specific for success in medical school
Housing options are available, including free transportation to and from the college each day.
