The ADEA has published preliminary information in regard to preparing your fall 2009 dental school application. Please click on the link provided and then on AADSAS and then Applicants. The central application for US dental schools (AADSAS) typically opens May 15. Updates will be provided as we get closer to this date.
Union College in Schenectady, NY will be hosting the 11th Annual National Undergraduate Bioethics Conference April 4 and April 5, 2008. Submissions are due March 1 and include such entries as panels, skits, case studies, etc. The theme is: The Human Use of Human Beings in Medicine and Science.
All majors are welcome!

A Powerful Lesson
Mr. Mark Sterner will be speaking Monday, February 4 at 7:00 p.m. at the UB Center for the Arts Mainstage. Learn how a spring break trip turned into a nightmare for Mark and three of his fraternity brothers. Mark will share his story of what happens when alcohol and driving mix. Mark Sterner was driving and killed his friends, under the influence of alcohol.
This program is free.
ATTENTION: Those applying for fall 2009 admission to the professional health schools.
If you are a junior this year and/or plan on applying for the entering class of 2009 to medical school (MD or DO), dental school, veterinary school, optometry, etc., please read below. You also will want to consider making an appointment for prehealth advisement several weeks prior to the April 1 Prehealth Committee deadline to be sure you are well informed and prepared to come through the Committee in support of your fall 2009 application.
DEADLINE: APRIL 1, 2008 with at least 4 individual letters due NO LATER THAN April 15, 2008
Four to seven individual letters of recommendation can be sent to the office in 109 Norton Hall anytime in support of your application.

A minimum of FOUR letters of recommendation MUST BE RECEIVED for you by APRIL 1, 2008.
**Please remember that applications to these professions school have been on the rise and; therefore, they are extremely competitive schools in which to gain admission. If your overall or science/math GPA is around or below a 3.0 (e.g., 2.9 to 3.3/3.4), please make an appointment to see the prehealth advisor prior to applying to the Prehealth Committee***
