This message is from Robin Comeau, coordinator of the UB Dental School Clinical Observation Program.
Due to the number of applications I have already received and due to the additional vaccination requirements for health care workers (Influenza), I am going to have to close the applications for the UB Dental Clinic Observation Program for this semester. This will give me a chance to process the ones I have and make the necessary revisions to the application for the Spring semester.
The following changes will be made to the application process:
1) Annual seasonal Influenza vaccination will be required (also H1N1 for 2009-2010) [effective now]
2) Program will be limited to individuals enrolled in either their second or third year of post - secondary (i.e., college) education.
3) There will be a limit of 25 program applicants each semester (September 1 & January 1).
4) Once accepted, applicants can participate for two consecutive semesters.

This message is from Martin Smallidge, president of the Pre-Dental Association.
The first Pre Dental Association meeting of the year will be held tomorrow Wednesday, September 9 in 210 Student Union at 6:30pm. We will be having subs and pizza. There will be an introduction to the club for all new members and we will give you an understanding of what we do. Your input is necessary for the club to survive, so we will also be asking you what you want from the club this year and take any suggestions on activities. Good luck with your second week off classes and I look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
Dr. Jim Weir, Assistant Dean for Admissions, LSU School of Dentistry, has announced LSU’s participation in ADEA-AADSAS, effective immediately. Individuals wishing to apply to LSU for the 2010 entering class may now designate LSU inside the AADSAS application. More information about the LSU School of Dentistry can be found at their website and in the ADEA Official Guide to Dental Schools.

The UB Reporter features on article on Erin Topley, a UB 2009 dental school graduate, who has written a book of cartoons poking fun at the life of a dental student. Click on the lighter side of dental school to read more.
For a guide as to what is required by each school in addition to what is required for AADSAS, please go to the linked information. Several schools require additional materials to be submitted AT THE SAME TIME or around the approximate time you are submitting your AADSAS.

For students applying to US dental schools through AADSAS, please see the following information about completing the “Letters of Evaluation” (LOE) Section. Several students have had questions.
Full instructions regarding this section are found at the link. Please read under Letters of Evaluation especially under “Submitting a Committee Report.”
Our office will be sending your letters ELECTRONICALLY, so please indicate this.
For those of you who came through or plan to come through a Prehealth Committee cycle at UB, please indicate only ONE evaluator in the “Evaluator Section”. You do NOT need to list all individual evaluators if you have completed or plan to complete the Committee process. Please use the following info:
