East Tennesee Summer Enrichment Programs

MCAT TEST PREP
Dates:  May 20 - June 30, 2007
Expected program size:  10 participants
Requirements:  Completed ALL the pre-req coursework necessary for the MCAT.  Complete Participant Application, provide a copy of all college transcripts, submit two evaluations, and intend on taking the MCAT within six months of participation.
Program Info:  For MCAT, we are considering a computer-based program from Dr. Flowers MCAT.  In addition to test preparation, there will be workshops focusing on the admissions process.  Typical weekly schedule will be Mon-Fri from 8:30 - 3:30 with full-length practice exams administered on Saturdays.

Expenses:  Housing will be provided in Buc Ridge or Campus Ridge, $600 Food Allowance, Travel Allowance (TBD), and $1200 participation stipend.
DOCTORS OF TOMORROW CAMP
Dates:  DOT-I: June 3 - June 16 or DOT-II: June 17 - 30
Expected Program size:  8 participants for each camp
Requirements:  Applicants must have successfully completed a minimum of 30 college semester hours.  Complete Participant Applicantion and provide copies of all college transcripts.

Program Info:  This is a condensed version of our Doctors of Tomorrow programs from previous summers.  The first week is a didactic week where participants will learn clinical skills and participate in  “Planning for Professional School” workshops.  The second week is a clinical week where participants will shadow physicans and residents in primary care facilities associated with Quillen College of Medicine.  Students interested in health professions other that medicine will also have the opportunity to shadow in their discipline of interest.

Expenses:  Housing will be provided in Davis Apts, $200 Food Allowance, Travel Allowance (TBD).  NO Participation Stipend will be provided given the short length of the program.
