Volunteer Fair
WNED/Western New York Public Broadcasting will be hosting the fourth annual Volunteer Fair (click on Volunteer Fair) at the WNED studios, 140 Lower Terrace, downtown Buffalo, from 10 a.m. to 2p.m., Saturday, March 29.
The event matches potential volunteers with opportunities in more than 35 areas of human service and cultural organization including but not limited to working with pets, children, older adults, assisting in health-care settings and participating in environmental clean-ups or major community events.
“Anyone who is considering volunteering can take advantage of this unique one-stop shopping experience,” said Lisa Napier, volunteer manager at WNED. “Meet face-to-face with agency representatives, learn about different assignments, and choose one that is right for you. If you like, sign up on the spot. It’s ideal for retirees who want to use their skills, students seeking community service opportunities, stay-at-home moms or busy people who want a short-term involvement.”
