Re-Applicant Information for 2018 Admission

If you are anticipating *reapplying* in 2017 for fall 2018 admission and have previously come through the Prehealth Committee, please do not open another Committee application but instead set a phone or in-person appointment with a prehealth advisor in the spring of 2017 (before May) to help assess your preparedness to reapply.  The professional health schools expect a “significantly different application” from any previous applications to warrant an acceptance.  Reapplication is time consuming and costly.   For further information for re-applicants who have previously gone through the UB Prehealth Committee, please go to   We will begin to accept re-applicant addendum forms in May of 2017.

Why Diversity Matters in Health Care

As a health professions student, you need to be aware of the complex issues that shape the health care field in the United States. Some of the most urgent topics today revolve around our nation’s need to eliminate inequities in the quality and availability of health care for ethnic, racial and economic minorities. Closely connected to this is the need to increase both the diversity and the cultural competence of our health care workforce.

Chiropractor Featured in #FemaleFounderFriday

This week’s #FemaleFounderFriday hosted by Blackstone LaunchPad at UB, features Phyllis M. Burgio, DC, CEO and President of Burgio Health | Fri. 9/30 at 3:00 PM in 220 Student Union

Dr. Phyllis Burgio became interested in becoming a chiropractor after experiencing the loss of her health as a child due to Crohn’s disease. Through many trials and tribulations, along with the love of her parents, she discovered the benefits of living a healthier life after being introduced to organic foods and chiropractic care.

Since then, she has developed a deep passion for empowering others through education in the benefits of receiving chiropractic care along with healthier lifestyle choices. The concept for Burgio Health came from these same ideals and after practicing for over 25 years, Burgio Health was created. It is designed to empower the consumer and employers in order to actively engage in financial and healthcare decisions. It is a holistic system that was developed to integrate into our healthcare system what is missing… A Wellness System to put “Health” back into healthcare!

Come hear her story in 220 SU this Friday, September 30th at 3:00 PM.
