Whether you are interested in pursuing a graduate degree to sharpen your research skills before hitting the job market, seeking a ‘gap’ year program before going on to health professions school, to get the required advanced training needed to become a secondary school teacher or are committed to a career in research and seek a cutting-edge Ph.D. degree program, the Department of Biological Sciences at the University at Buffalo has a graduate degree program to meet your interests and needs.

By attending this event you will learn about the opportunities, advantages and benefits of earning a graduate degree with us. You will also have the opportunity to meet with current students, and learn from program faculty about the cutting edge research and educational opportunities available within our graduate programs.

We offer a choice of three graduate programs, each designed to prepare students for a variety of careers:

  • Ph.D. program – provides training for students interested in taking leadership positions in academic institutions and/or the biotech industry.
  • M.S. program – provides research skills training for students who have not had previous research experience, and/or advanced instruction for those who wish to assume laboratory management positions.
